Coldfusion Administrator

Can anybody help me in creating dsn for a Teradata datasource from ColdfusionMX Administrator.

Actually if i create a system dsn through the control panel odbc connectivity, it creates sucessfully. But i am not able to create the same through coldfusion administrar.

Since no driver is listed for Teradata in coldfusion administrator, i chose the "other" option for this driver. It asks for driver name, driver class and url for creating this datasource. How do i register the driver in coldfusion administrator ? Can anybody please help me in this.

Thnx in advance,

Hi there

I gues you need to download the the  JDBC Driver you want here

and copy the files to JRun/servers/lib
not sure what to fill in in driver class

maybe there is something in the documentation

Most JDBC drivers come with some documentation. You can copy the necessary *.jar
file to

1. JRun/servers/lib directory (JRun Install)

2. Go to CF admin and configure an "Other Datasource" - think last option of drivers.

3. Refer to the docs that came with the JDBC Driver for correct Driver Class and URL
awsnsAuthor Commented:
i have downloaded the driver and got the respective jar files "terajdbc4.jar" and "tdgssjava.jar" as mentioned in the site. I have placed the jar files respectively in the lib directory of

Then i created the dsn using "other datasources" option.

Driver URL : "jdbc:teradata://serverloc where teradata is running;"
Driver class : "com.ncr.teradata.TeraDriver"
Driver Name : "TeraDriver"

But still while submitting it throws an error :

"Connection verification failed for data source: sample
[]java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver available for sample, please check the driver setting in jrun-resources.xml, error: com.ncr.teradata.TeraDriver
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver available for sample, please check the driver setting in jrun-resources.xml, error: com.ncr.teradata.TeraDriver"

I am not able to identify the mistake committed in the steps i have followed.

Please help.

as per http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/ts/documents/driver_class_space.htm

remove any trailing spaces from the Driver Class field
Split points Mause (1st) and kkhipple (last)
