I had a simple text file saved in the My Documents folder while logged in under the Guest login.
After logging out, this file was lost.  Is there any way to retrieve files saved while working under a Guest Login?

    Few questions?

Where did you save the file?
What extension did you save the file as...  aka:  .txt ?
Do you have "administrator" Uses on the computer.?

In order to browse the Documents and Settings User Profiles.
Other then your own, you will need to have Admin previleages
For the account that you are running.

I didn't have time to pursue trying to get this file back. I only downloaded and tried one of the recovery tools, but I'm sure I will try others in the future and appreciate all the links you sent

I am in the same situation as Mach1pro.  There are files that are saved on the desktop of the guest account.  The user logs into as a guest and modifies and successfully saves the files on the desktop.  After logging off the guest account, the files are gone.  I logged into the administrator account, but I could not find the guest folder in Documents and Settings.  The guest profile folder is not there.  The guest profile is not deleted.  What can I do to recover the files that were on the guest desktop?  Will recovery tools work in this situation?  The files were not deleted.  It's just that the profile is missing, which makes me unable to locate the files on the desktop.
