How can i back up

I rent deldicate server how can i back up all my data  so that if my system is down i can recover data

       Say, your data are in /home/teera. Do
    tar czf teera.tar.gz /home/teera
    and then use ftp to upload teera.tar.gz to your PC or your ftp server.

       If you have tape drive, do
    tar cf /dev/rmt0  /home/teera
