PC locks up

I had to format my HD and I had it upgraded to XP Pro.  The guy who did it also installed my drivers.  Here is the problem.  When I use my DVD drives (I have 2 one is DVDRW)  If I use it twice in a row, for instance copying mp3's that were on my previous hd, it locks up.  I am not sure if he installed the drivers for my dvd drives.  Here is a brief description of my setup.
I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RS 530G
OS-XPpro
HD 160GB
DVD
DVD\RW
Thank you

You mention that it locks-up.  Is there an error or anything displayed?  Do you have to reboot or does it come back?  Does the lock-up happen at any other time?

If you look in the Device manager...
 Type WinKey + E
 Select Control Panel
 Select System
 Hardware tab
 Device manager

do you see any errors?

Still in Device manager can you see your two DVD drives listed under 'DVD / CD-ROM drives'?

Any other information to consider?

No error and I have to hold the power button to shut it off. It only occurs when i use my DVD drives,  but not all the time.
