Insert a DataTable into a database

I am developing a component that will index files.  It will create a DataTable with two collumns: FilePath and SearchID.  I want to give the end user maximum flexibility so I want to be able to save this DataTable as a file or to a database.  I know how to save it to a file (Just use writexml and the like right?) but how can I insert this table into a database given an open database connection?  Also, after I insert it the first time, if I update the datatable, how can I update the table in the database? Thanks for your help.
