Use a PDF creating program that works through a printer driver - then "print it"

can you be more specific?
Most PDF creating programs (I use Acrobat 6.0) add a printer driver to your system. To make a PDF go to File > Print, and select your PDF software as your printer. Adjust settings as you see fit, and then press Print.

Another way to make PDFs in Quark is by using File > Export > Document as PDF, but that won't work without setting up a postcript printer driver, printer description...
Free Tool: IP Lookup

Get more info about an IP address or domain name, such as organization, abuse contacts and geolocation.

and that s the only way?
a quark to pdf file convertor
I never used quark before

I did that and it a 494MB black and white file!!!

please help!

if you have installed acrobat with distiller, you need to check your distiller settings.  If you have huge images, in your quark file, you need to make sure your distiller .joboptions are set to compress the pictures to a lower quality.

quark creates links or paths to the images in the file.  it adds on the size of the file if you embed them into the PDF.

if it's just text, there must be some other data, vector art in the files to make it so big.  otherwise, it must be the image./

Open distiller separately, check the job options, change it to screen or ebook.

Hi michael:

I never tryed that because I dont have destiller, what i did is import the file to a tryout of Indesign CS and it worked perfect.

I think I lll give you the points anyway for your time and because the way you explain it might help someone else
