To start and stop a movie

I need to be able to start and stop a movie in flash. Whats the action script for doing that.

its really quite simple..

on your stage create some buttons..  you might want to put them on a different layer.. and insert a keyframe at the last frame of your stage..

after you have created your buttons (right click - convert to symbol - button)

click on your play button go to the actions panel and add the following code

on (release) {

click on the stop button and go to actions and add the following code

on (release) {

this will allow after clicking and releasing your buttons to stop or play the movies respectively..
