NTVDM is a NT Vertial DOS Machine process.

I've not noticed this running to add a printer before.

Does the printer install on a different profile? If so the profile is the problem.

If not, try installing the printer a different way, ie, if its on a printer server try \\servername [enter] and find the printer and right click and connect, or if that dossn't work try running SFC /SCANNOW and try again.

Try SFC/SCANNOW or reinstall the driver. Something has corrupted so one of them should fix it.
