We tried to copy documents on the desktop and also in the directories. when we give the command to copy or cut and then we want to past it there's nothing happening. does somebody know what the problem is. This problem was a responding of a strange hikkup on a other server in the farm. This problem accurred after an strange hick-up on a fileserver. The server that has the problem is a front-end terminal server.
I hope somebody knows what the problem is and knowws how we can repair this.

Try the following:

Dr. Watson Error Message May Occur When You Copy and Paste Files by Using Windows Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;275599

Look in the System and Application Event Logs to see if there are any messages being created then let us know what they are.

Blaster would do that, so would certain spywares, I'd scan with spybot after updating the spyware definitions if the blaster removal tool finds nothing....also, try to disable the office clipboard if it is running, this will determine if the problem is associated with Office, which is another cause of this behaviour.

Cheers,

hallo,

The information that you gave to me, was not the answer of our problem. We run the patch and the removal tool but he found nothing. The exact problem is that we can't copy, cut and then paste anny document in windows 2000.
The copy cut and paste works in internet explorer and in all office programs. The problem is only a windows problem.

The problem is history. After consulting microsoft. Microsoft came with a repair for internet explorer.
This is the command for the repair tool:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IE Uninstall\W2KEXCP.EXE /u

If the patch is different type the accordingly.

Ik hope I help the people that get the same problem, with this answer

SO? This:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IE Uninstall\W2KEXCP.EXE /u

Un-install's Internet Explorer 5.5, leading me to believe the problem IS with Internet Explorer and NOT Windows Explorer

Eitherway, DID the above actions resolve your problem?
