NSLOOKUP can't find server

NW 6.5 SP2.  DNS and DHCP are NetWare.

from workstation:  nslookup 10.10.100.2
*** Can't find server name for address 10.10.100.2: Non-existent domain
*** Default servers are not available
Server:  Unknown
Address:  10.10.100.2

from workstation:  nslookup [server name]
*** Can't find server name for address 10.10.100.2: Non-existent domain
*** Default servers are not available
Server:  UnKnown
Address:  10.10.100.2

Name:  [servername].domain
Address:  10.10.100.2

Ping command using server name does work.  That tells me the DNS is resolving names.

Can't figure this one out.

Thanks.

Liz,

On what platform are you running nslookup?

Seems to me that this is a workstation issue. The DNS resolver file is not correct - IIRC, that's what nslookup uses to determine what nameserver to connect to to place the queries.

Figured it out.  The "named.nlm" from NetWare 6.5 SP2 has a fatal flaw.  I back revved the NLM.
Procedure:  Unload named.  rename the current NLM.  I try to always rename the files when I update them.  SO, I had an older version of the named.NLM on my server.  Renamed the newest of the oldest.  Restarted named ---- DNS.  It works.

Thanks.
