Not sure why that happened, unless a specific version of software was specified in the config, which isn't in the flash. I would get on the console and
    1. type flash_init
    2. type dir flash: so you can then see what's in there, if anything.
    3. If there's a good binary there, type "boot flash:[the binary name]"

Once it boots, type "show boot" to see if the switch is looking for something that isn't there. If it is, change it by typing, in config mode "boot system flash:[the good binary name]"

If there's nothing on flash and it won't boot, you'll need to tftp a new image on there. But you always have to type "flash_init" from the switch: prompt to use the flash.

Try rebooting the switch while you're on the console and watch the boot sequence, that will also give you good information about the problem.

You have no binary image in your switch. It's like booting a PC with no operating system. Something is weird, becasue it's looking for an empty image name. If you have access to a boot image, you can use xmodem to load a new one in. It will take forever but it will work. You can also use tftp to do it, but it's more complicated.

Did you buy the switch new and if so, how long ago? Your switch is licensed to have the version of software it came with if you bought it new. It comes with a warranty that may or may not be expired. I would talk to the vendor to get replacement software and failing that, talk to Cisco.
