How to send an SMS to a cell phone or IM to remind of an appointments/appointments/anniversaries?

Here's a Microsoft KB article on sending reminders to a pager:

I'm not aware of any other built-in Outlook feature that'd do this.  There are a number of third-party apps that'll do this though.  Here's a link to a web site that lists a bunch of them.  Although I don't know, I suspect this may be what shivsa was referring to in his/her post.

It's also possible to write a custom program that'd monitor Outlook and send pages/SMSs, even when Outlook was not running.
