Context menu - shell extensions

I have an ATL component which handles the context menus for file right clicks and perform some tasks. When a file is right-clicked, three options should appear in the pop-up menu. When any of the options is clicked, a function should be invoked. This works fine.
The problem is, when a shortcut(link to a file) is right clicked, each options appear twice. How do I rectify it? For shortcuts, the option should not occur at all.

    Accepted Solution

In 'IShellExt::QueryContextMenu()', evaluate if 'uFlags' contains CMF_VERBSONLY - if so, you're dealing with a shortcut.
