My Unix netwok Ethernet connection has dropped to 9600 baud!?
Is my inittab file trashed?
The connection device on the Unix side is /dev/ttyp64.
Thanks in advance,

If in saying that the "connection has dropped to 9600 baud" you are talking about what 'stty -a' shows as a baud rate when you are connected to the system via telnet, rlogin, or ssh, that is a meaningless number. The speed reported by stty only has meaning when there's a direct connection via a serial port.

Good point. I do understand that stty < /dev/ttyp64 would say 9600 baud regardless.
I should have said that the way the character based Unix program is scrolling across the
monitor seems as if the connection is 9600 baud or some speed close to that.

There are a lot of things that could influence the scrolling speed, like network congestion, remote server load, local client load, etc. You'd want to look into those possibilities first since it is unlikely that a network interface would suddenly drop to a low enough speed to visibly effect scrolling speed.

It was the WinAntiVirus software that I just purchased. I unistalled it and and now the speed
is back to normal.
