chm help files

visual basic 6.0   v8176

MSG:   "The MSDN Collection Does Not Exist Pleae reinstall MSDN"

All the chm files are on the hard drive. the vshelp.dll is registered

but still no help!

Microsoft Says:
New versions of the MSDN Library do not integrate with Visual Studio 6.0 products

so what the @#$ does this mean?

How do you get the help files integrated?????

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you have the original MSDN installation which came with Visual Studio, then you can start the library with a shortcut to hh.exe and pass the path to msdnvs6a.col

C:\WINDOWS\hh.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\MSDN98\98VSa\1033\msdnvs6a.col

Did you recently install a newer MSDN or VS.NET?

I just started here and the IT guys are not very forthcoming with information.
We are running vb6.0 only.  v8176

This makes absolutly no sense!  The it guy says "we don't have the msdn library."

I believe the MSDN library is included in Visual Studio (it came with my Enterprise edition) and it can be either installed on the harddrive or installed to run from the CD.  Look through your Visual Studio disks and find the ones marked MSDN.  I think only the version of MSDN which was distributed with VS will integrate.

This is @#$@##$.  I used my version of MSDN it works fine.

Does anyone know how/if we can get MSDN CD's?

You can get MSDN CD's, you have to subscribe to that off Microsoft's site.
You can probably find it from here:
