I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Solution: Reconfigure Windows so that Acrobat can install the Adobe PDF printer.

To reconfigure Windows, check the Path system variable, restore the framedyn.dll file, disable System Restore (Windows XP only), and then use the Detect and Repair command in Acrobat to install the Adobe PDF printer:

Disclaimer: Adobe provides the following information as a courtesy only. For more information about changing the Path System variable value, visit Microsoft's Web site at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319114.

1. Check the Path system variable:
a. Double-click System in the Windows Control Panel.

b. Click the Advanced tab.

c. Click Environment Variables.

d. In the System Variables section, select the Path variable, and then click Edit.

e. In the Edit System Variable dialog box, make sure that the value in the Variable Value text box matches the following value exactly, including backslashes, semicolons, and spacing between characters:

SystemRoot\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem

-- If the Variable Value doesn't begin with this value, copy the value above into the Variable Value text box, and then click OK to close the System Properties window.

I looked at my path and it said:

C:\Program Files\Palm;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;
SystemRoot\System32\Wbem

When done reboot.
