tekram scsi adapter

I have a scsi seagate 36 gb hard drive which is capable of running at 160 mb/sec. I bought a tekram DC-390U3W SCSI adapter as the controller. The system has an ASUS A7V8X mobo which is capable of booting from a scsi device. I'm running Win98SE

I'm confused about which 68 pin connector to connect the hard drive to. There are also (2) jumpers, J1 & J2, on the adapter card that need to be configured. How do I set these? The manual is written so only a computer engineer can understand it. This card can run in PCI 64 bit or 32 bit mode. How can I tell which mode to run it in? Does this motherboard support PCI 64 bit? The motherboard has a PCI slot that is blue, the rest are white. Is this blue slot special?

thanks in advance
