Running Mandrake 10.1 & Fedora Core 3 on same PC?

Hi all,

I have already installed Fedora Core 3 (dual-booting with XP) and would also like to try Mandrake 10.1 Community. Is there any way to run two flavours of Linux on the same box? If so, how do I go about it?

Thanks.

No problem.
If you have extra disk space or extra hard disk.

Just boot from Mandrake CD and install it.
Make sure you don't wipe out original Fedora Core 3 partition (reserved not overwrite).u
Share swap partition between different Linux is fine.
In other words, you only need one swap partition.

Regards,

Wesly
If you use Grub as boot loader, then just boot from Mandrake CD and install it.
Mandrake install process will take care of boot loader.

Thanks Wesly,

This is what I'm afraid of. I've always had problems with grub/lilo in the past.

I have just installed Mandrake over Fedora Core3. If I remember correctly, I installed lilo on the root partition.

I use XOSL boot loader to boot Win98, XP and Linux. Everything works perfectly (so far).

When I install Fedora Core3, how do I configure the boot loader? Put it on the root partition for FC3?

Andrew.

Cool!

got rid of XP - now have Win98, Win2000, Mandrake 10.1 AND Fedora Core3 all running happliy together on the same disk!
I didn't even trash the partition table this time! (Note: never use Partition Magic again.)

I wonder if I can install SuSE as well....

Thanks Wesly.
