Ziocorp Multicard reader won't install under W2K

I have a Ziocorp (CameraMate High speed 10 in 1 card reader/writer) hooked up to a w2k pro machine. When the device is plugged in to the usb port, the os finds it and attempts to install a driver. A message comes up saying that the device has not passed window compatability testing and "do you want to continue with installation?". Clicking yes produces a dialogue box that says the driver install failed and that the "Parameter is incorrect". The device then shows up in devices manager with a yellow splat (exclaimation mark)

Has anyone seen behavior like this before? How was it resolved?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the response KaliKoder,

no the device did not come with a driver c.d. and it was not a previously opened package.

In my initial seach for an appropriate driver for this device, I noticed that there do not seem to be any w2k drivers for my particular model of device. In addition, most of the drivers on the manuf. web site are for w98. Is this what you are noticing also?

thanks,

Hi Wmsunder,

The page I mentioned to you, does seem to have drivers for it, if you go on to the http://www.ziocorp.com/support/downloads.html page, scroll down and look for the 10-in-1 (high speed) device, you would find a link to the windows 2000 driver. I could not go any further than that cuz, they ask for your device's serial number to proceed, which I dont have. So give that a try.

Thanks

Hi KaliKoder,

The 10-in-1 reader that we have is the CameraMate model. I think that the w2k drivers on this page are for the "dazzle" 10-in-1 reader.

I am not sure if there is a real difference between these devices so I will give this a try as soon as I have the chance.

Thanks,

Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released (Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server) that shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console. All versions of the operating system support NTFS 3.0, Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage. The Windows 2000 Server family includes support for Active Directory services, Distributed File System and fault-redundant storage volumes.
