AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Appears as an Athlon 1800+

My problem is that I have just installed an Athlon XP 3000+ on a XP Proffesional machine. Motherboard is an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe. 1 GB of Crucial (two sticks) DDR- 3200 CAS 3 running in dual channel mode. In the General Section of the Hardware Applet the Processor is listed as a 1800+ the label on the processor states that it is a 3000+. SANDRA also carries this processor as a 1800+. The vendor,s customer service rep claims that all that I have to do is change the processor speed in the BIOS. Right. The BIOS on this board auto detects the proc. speed. I read somewhere ( Maxum PC I think) that XP may have trouble detecting the real speed of  AMD Processors because of the low voltages. Have I bought a miss labeled processor or what. Vendor was United Micro. Thankyou in advance Robert Brundige

There is a Jumper on this Motherboard forcing the FSB to 200(100MHZ).

Check this jumper it should be on pin 1&2

check this link to manual page 35 section 2-15

Hi tubesalot,
After you get you FSB straightened out you may want to update your bios.  It may not have full support for the 3000+.  I had to do that on my asus a7v-333x to get mine to recognize it correctly.
