When you say "force a postback"... what, precisely, are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

Testing if the data persists... what to 'hit' the server...thx
Well.... a postback is, by definition, originated on the client. The code-behind page's code is run on the server...

The best way to "force" a postback is to just put a submit button on the page, and click it from the IE window on the client.
