windows 2003 "the directory service is busy"

I have a windows 2003 server, domain controller.  I was adding a PC to the domain and changing the computer name in the process. This always worked fine int he past.   However, on this one occasion I got an error

The following error occurred attempting to change the computer name......    The directory service is busy.

What the heck's with that ?  The server is a good size machine and there are only about 10 clients PC's on the network with 30 more to be added.  There are no entries in the server event log that relate to it's being busy.

I tried the operation again and it worked OK, but this has me concerned

BTW:  if there were changes being made on your AD Schema (on the DC) this is one of the errors that could be thrown at you.  The changes could not be made while the database was being accessed, so the error was given and you must try again..  (Just keep watch on your event logs for any indications that a problem is brewing, and you should be okay..)

*grin*..  I guess we agree, eh rindi?
