Xerox Phaser 8400 DP hard drive addition

Has anyone any experience on adding a non-Xerox hard drive to a Xerox Phaser 8400 DP, I want to see if this is possible for two reasons.

1. Want more than 20GB storage.
2. Don't want to pay $477.61 to Xerox for a 20 GB hard drive when I can get a really huge one for much less money.

if you have added a non Xerox HD any tips would be very helpful.

Ok, I tried all of the above.. and have concluded that its not possible to get it to work without the correct card from Xerox that can only be ordered with an installed HD, thanks for all your help.

Anyone else reading this, don't try this at home.. there are many more obstacles to installing the drive without the correct card than you can imagine.
