Error message "Could not save item" in Calendar in standalone Outlook 2003
When I try to add a new Calendar item in Outlook 2003, I get the error message, "Could not save item."
I ran Detect and Repair and it did not fix the problem.
Any ideas? (Note that I'm not running Exchange - there are others who have had this problem in corporate or workgroup settings but they were given advice not relevant to my problem as I have a standalone installation).

Okay, I am having the same problem. I did this below:
I'd recommend these troubleshooting steps in this order:
1. Create a subfolder underneath your regular calendar (that holds Calendar Items) and see if you can create appointments there.
And I can create appts in the sub folder. So now what? What does that mean and what do I do from here?

Hi sxwk12, if you are experiencing a technical problem you need to open up a new question, this question is closed and you cannot piggy back closed questions in order to resolve new issues. See https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp if you have any questions on how to do this.
Had the exact same "Could not save item" error.
jscarborough's solution of installing [in my case, MSFT's] anti-spyware and rebooting FIXED the problem. THANK YOU. I never would have thought of this.

Thank you for all the help. Before I tried traval's suggestions, I ran an anti-spyware product again and rebooted, and the problem went away. I will keep the above suggestions, though, in case this happens again.
