and i can see that you dont have the Advanced button, instead of this you have the Restore button, means you have already altered the file type description..... so before cahing it again, you have to Restore the default settings by hitting the Restore button, and then apply..... then open File Types properties again and now you should get that Advanced button to make your changes again :)

I DON'T want to change file association. It's just that the 'Type' string is wrong.
I know Chopianissima..... if you will just go through my instructions... it will not change the fil assciation :)
you have to hit the Advanced button, there you will see the File Type descriptions wirtten. like if you will hit the Advanced button for Zip file, you will see there WinZip File written... and this is the file Description :)
Just change it to whatever you want..... and the description is changed..... give it a try atleast =)
Or, try this from Start/Run:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
ramesh will it change the description for the file types or will restore the default file description? :)
Chopianissima how did you change them?
restored and then changed the text and then switched back to the viewer I wanted
then dont you think that this suggestion is not the one you have Accpted above....?? =\
>> ramesh will it change the description for the file types or will restore the default file description? :)
