FileMaker 7 Server can't open or close databases

Running FM7 Advanced Server on Win2003. When the server boots, it attempts to open all of the appropriate databases, but never completes the action. In the FM7 Admin console (not the Web Publishing console), each database shows the status of "Opening" but never makes it to "Normal." Trying to toggle the databases (closing them and reopening) doesn't work -- in fact, I can't even close them when the status is "Opening." Also tried the typical tricks of restarting the FileMaker services (the main FM server can't be shut down), and bouncing the server. The only thing left to do seems to be reinstall the application on the server, which I am reluctant to do given the time involved. There aren't a large number of databases (about 10), nor a large number of users. Any other tricks out there?

It ends up that the server was hanging on a corrupt database (which was different than the one I was having problems with). I had to disable the services and then remove the database, and restart. Worked fine. I'm not a big fan of doing reinstalls unless everything else fails.

If you found the correct solution yourself, the correct thing to do would be to ask for a refund/PAQ in the support area, not give the lowest possible grade to everyone who posted anything.
