Looping logon when open report on Crystal Enterprise...
Hi, I have an urgent question about the Crystal Enterprise 10. Hope you can give me a hand.
I created an easy report from Crystal Report, using wizard. The report use ODBC to connect a AS/400 DB2 database. There is no problem to view the report in Crystal Designer. Then I published it to Crystal Enterprise. However, if I try to view on the Enterprise website, I was asked to input user name and password again and again without any other error messages. I tried some suggestions from Businessobjects.com, but no luck.
Do you have any idea what is wrong?
Yes, I did. But I still have the same problem.
The only thing different is, when I change to use System DSN instead of user DSN as recommanded by the document, I get no response from the web server if I open the report.

Have you set up the system dsn on the CE server? It needs to be there or the report won't work.
Yes, I did. I can open the report in the report designer. I refreshed a couple of times, there is no problem.

Are you opening it using Crystal Reports designer on you pc, or on the CE server.
If you are opening it up and running it on your PC, it will use the DSN on your machine, not the DSN on the CE server.
If you have Crystal loaded on the CE server, open the report in the designer on the server and see if it runs.

I have both the designer and CE server installed on my computer, which is windows 2000 professional.
In fact, I have a report that use ODBC to connect a Microsoft Access database. There is no problem opening it no matter n designer or CE server. But I have another report, which use ODBC to connect a DB2 file. This report gives me problem when I open in CE server. Is it related to DB2? Or ODBC or something else?
I would suspect that it has to do with the authentication to DB2.
Do you have the native DB2 driver installed? You can try using that instead of ODBC.

Native DB2 driver? What do you mean?
I use the driver that come with the IBM Client Access.
By the way, I am using OS/400 V4R5, I don't know whether it is related or not.
It might be a good place to start if you haven't looked at it yet.
