I have a Job on our SQL Sever 2000 that executes two stored procedures. The stored procedures copy data from AS400 database to a SQL Server database. On average it takes about 3 minutes to run the job. But one time the job ran for about 300 hours and we had to reboot the SQL Server stop the job. More recently the job ran for an hour. How can I setup the job in a way if the job is still running after 10 minutes then stop the job? Or is there a better way to avoid the job from running nonstop and crashing the server?
