what is the different of logic express, logic pro and garageband

I would like to clarify the different of the following:
1. logic express
2. logic pro
3. garageband

Also, where can I get the trial versions

GarageBand, Logic Express, and Logic Pro are all audio recording and processing applications made by Apple Computer. They all have similar underlying technology, as they are all descended from Logic.

GarageBand is an incredibly capable application for its price point, incorporating multi-track recording, MIDI sequencing, looping, virtual instruments, and music notation with an easy to learn interface. It's included as a part of the $79 iLife suite. It's a good place to start if you're new to music production. Read more about GarageBand here:

Logic Express is a scaled down version of Logic Pro. It can't do as much, but it cost $700 less.

Logic Pro is one of the big music production suite, competing with Digital Performer and Pro Tools for the top spot in Sound recording and music producing software. It has a very big learning curve if you are new to this kind of software. That's mainly because it can do nearly everything you could ever think of doing.

I forgot to mention that there does not appear to be any legal trial versions of these applications available.
