Like to connect to Ms Access Db

I would like design a small MS Access database for my login page. Db store login names and passwords.
After that to connect DB ..can i do that in html and javascript code to connect db.

Do i need to use jsp. Users of this application do want any software on their machine. If i use jsp webserver and java is necessary to run the application.

Can we do it in html and javascript code??

No, you can't do it with HTML and client side Javascript.

You have to have some kind of Server side scripts. It doesn't have to be jsp. You could for instance use PHP(www.php.net).

The database manipulation has to be done on the server. That's why HTML and Javascript wont' help, since it's all client side(in the browser).
