I'm swapping out one person's computer for another

We are running ms exchange server

Is there a way to copy the emails and folders from the old computers outlook to the new computers outlook without using   the file transfer wizard

I only want the folders with all the emails, all the emails in the inbox, outbox, deleted , saved ect...but I don't want to copy the settings because we were having problems on the old machine

Thanks

WestonGroup,
Unless you are using .pst files, the emails and folder structure is in the mailbox itself in exchange. When the new computer is connected to the exchange server all the email and folders will still be there.

If you are using .pst files, just import the .pst into Outlook to restore your emails and folders.

hope this helps.

WestonGroup,
The PST files are normally stored in the profile of the user. Path is C:\Documents and Settings\%User Profile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Make sure that you have View->Show Hidden Files and Folders enabled in Windows explorer.

Let me know if it works for you! ;o)

I don't get it...I went to the old machine archived everything...it created a huge archice.pst file

I saved that file to my memory stick  and imported onto the new machine....it imported the deleted items and sent items but not the folders and not the inbox

why?

Did you do an export to PST and how did you import it? You just have to open the PST file by going to File->Open->Data files / Personal Folders.

Try opening the PST file by going to FIle->Open. You don't need to import a PST. Let me know if it works for you! ;o)

The import worked, but all the contacts are missing.  I tried importing the .pab file but its importing contacts from a year ago they are all the incorrect contacts.

Are these contacts lost they are really impt so I hope not.

I think its cause the new list wasn't saved or updated but i'm hoping i'm wrong

is there a way to recover this
