I've build a RAID 5 Array on 7*36GB disks.

During the wizard I didn't find any option to configure a spare disk. so my question are:

1. How do I add a spare *DURING* the RAID wizard?

2. How do I add a spare *AFTER* I have an array with 70GB of data on it?

Tnx, Amir.

Both methods are essentially the same and depend greatly on the array controller and configuration utility used.  Please post details on tthe server model, array controller and array configuration utility used.

Generally, on most modern utilities (last 4 years or so) there is a button to click or check to select a hot spare addition.  I am assuming that this prior to OS installation or that the appropriate config utility has been installed on the Windows platform.

Unfortunately, if you wish to do this on a Linux/Unix system through the OS, I di nit have the appropriate skillset to offer advice.
