Config CA connection agreement
I installed a new 2003 server with Exchange 2003. I joined an existing exchange organization and want to migrate to this new domain/server. The ADC is giving me 8026 error in the event log:
LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory servername.domainname.com for distinguished name 'DOMAINNAME\Username'. Directory returned error [0x51] Server Down. [Connection Agreement 'Config CA_DOMAINNAME_SERVERNAME' #3580]
What should that connection be set for? It was automatically created so I did not set it manually. It currently has under Windows Server Information my new servername.newdomainname.c om. Under exchange server information, it has the same thing and it is set to port 379. Connect As box has a user account in the old NT domain. Is this correct or does something need changed. When I try to modify username and password for the user account I get an error that says:
Unable to connect to exchange server, please make sure your connections are configured correctly.

Yes I joined an existing Exchange 5.5 organization. I have the Active Directory Connector installed on the new 2003 server and the wizard created the connection agreements. On the Exchange 5.5 Server I have an ADNAutoDRC under directory replication. The local bridgehead server is set to the 2003 server. Should it be set to the 5.5 server or does it not matter since they are in the same site?
LDAP uses port 389 not port 379.
Thing is, you should have installed and verified the Active Directory Connector long before installing an Exchange 2003 server in your Exchange 5.5 organisation. Do you know whether your AD Connector was working properly before?

It seemed to be working with no problem before I installed Exchange 2003. All the user information such as email address, first/last names all moved to the new domain after I installed the connector the originally.

When I look at the Connection Agreement for Config CA_Domain Name and look at the connections tab, the exchange server information is grayed out and I can't modify it. It has the port set to 379. It did that when I installed the ADC originally.

The SRS service was not running due to low disk space on C: drive. After moving files from C: to D: and rebooting it started and the connector was working. Thanks for your help and input.
Have you installed the Active Directory Connector on an existing server (preferably an Exchange 5.5 machine).
