need event.keyCode to return non English character value

I am checking event.keyCode in the onKeyDown event. Even though I am in a keyboard language other than English (in this case Hebrew) the keyCode that is returned is the english character value of the same key. How do I get the other language keyCode? Also, how do I check what the current keyboard language is?

There is no internal relation between event.keyCode and current locale. As you can see one key always returns the same code regardless locale selection.

You could set switch where each keyCode will get correspondent character. You can map key codes to any characters.
