I have just purchased a brand new, UNLOCKED, in the wrapper Blackberry 7100t.  I understand I can use it with any provider.  Does this mean I can replace my Nokia with this using my ATT number?  And who do I contact for the email capabilities which is the primary reason I purchased the Blackberry. Unlocked was critical becasue I have two trips to Eurpoe this year. I would prefer to use T Mobile but will get tanked in cancellation fees by ATT. ( may do it anyhow ) So, I suppose what I am looking for is some basic information. My Blackberry arrives Thursday and I wanted to understand what I had to do to get myself up and running before it gets here.

Thanks so much...........Doreem

If you have a SIM chip in your Nokia phone then yes all you would need to is insert the SIM chip from your Nokia phone into your Blackberry and it would work for voice. To receive email though you will need to sign up with your carrier (ATTWS). They can add the Blackberry plan onto your existing number. Before you do that though and to ensure that your device is actually unlocked I would wait for the device to arrive and then insert your SIM chip. If you have a GSM phone then it will have the chip. It is typically located underneath the battery. Insert it into the Blackberry and turn it on. You wil also need to turn the radio on after it powers up. If the device is truely SIM unlocked then it should go to the main menu and will probably say data refused and underneath the network signal indicator is will show gprs instead of GPRS which means is will only work for voice calls. Then you can call ATT and have them add a Blackberry plan on the device. Just load the software on the PC that you want to redirect email or contact your IT department if your company has a BES server.
On a side note if you keep the device I would look on T-Mobile's website for the updated handheld code (assuming that it is a T-Mobile branded device, which the 7100t model should be). There have been some comments that when they first released those devices they had some software issues that were later addressed by the updates.
