Would you please tell me how to increase the default buffer page for ASP?

I go to the IIS manager and right click on the properties, there are no such a tag for increasing the ASP default buffer size.

Please advise

Hello,

what is the problem that you are trying to overcome?  (i think there are a few known issues with asp buffering that can be fixed by an update patch)

you can modify /LM/W3SVC/n/AspBufferingLimit to increase the maximum size of the buffer of web site 'n'.

this script will double AspBufferingLimit on the default web ste:

set providerObj=GetObject("winmgmts:/root/MicrosoftIISv2")
set vdirObj=providerObj.get("IIsWebVirtualDirSetting='W3SVC/1'")
' default size is 4194304 bytes
vdirObj.AspBufferingLimit=4194304*2
vdirObj.Put_()

you can also set the AspBufferingLimit on the following branches:

/LM/W3SVC/n/ROOT (IIsWebVirtualDir)
/LM/W3SVC/n/ROOT/virtual_directory_name (IIsWebVirtualDir)
/LM/W3SVC/n (IIsWebServer)
/LM/W3SVC (IIsWebService)
/LM/W3SVC/n/ROOT/physical_directory_name (IIsWebDirectory)
/LM/W3SVC/n/virtual_directory_name/physical_directory_name (IIsWebDirectory)

cheers.

Hello,

no this is not registry, it is IIS metabase.  Use the script method to update and interrogate the variables.

This scrpt will print the current value of the buffer size:

set providerObj=GetObject("winmgmts:/root/MicrosoftIISv2")
' change '1' to 2, 3, 4, ..n for each web site
set vdirObj=providerObj.get("IIsWebVirtualDirSetting='W3SVC/1'")
WScript.Echo "Current Value: " & vdirObj.AspBufferingLimit

just copy ity to a text file, save it as "test.vbs" and run it from a command shell.

cheers.
