LicenseService alerts?

I am getting the following alerts and have been for some time in my APP event logs. Any idea how I can remedy this?

"Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server \\DC1 could not be contacted."

Please note:

DC1 is our domain controller, just changed the name so I didn't confuse anyone.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes Mike it appears so. I guess I am just a little confused as to what it does (the service) and what servers it needs to run on?

I would disable it, Microsoft has done that by default in 2003.
