msado15.dll stop working after moving to Windows XP SP2

Currently I use this line in my global.asa
<!-- METADATA TYPE="TypeLib" FILE="C:\Program Files\Common Files\system\ado\msado15.dll" -->

My asp codes work perfectly with Windows 2000 Server. After I copied it to my notebook running Windows XP SP2 then it stopped working, it kept giving me the error:

variable is underfined 'adCmdText'

I can work around this error by including the adovbs.inc on every page, but want to know how to make it work with the  METADATA TYPE library method.

I have search everywhere on the net without a real solution. Please give me the working solution if you have experienced the same problem and have found the way to fix it.

ok your original metadata tag worked fine  for me on my xp sp2 puter..

Have you installed the MS MDAC  i think 2.7 or 2.8..

the only other thing is to check to see if that file is sitting where it is pointing too.  if not then it;s most probably not installed or your windows in on another drive..
