You might want to say the job market for Linux administrator. Which is quite good sinice Sun has losing the Unix market to Linux.
Linux job market is getting better in USA and I just got a job for the Linux/Unix administrator in Silicon Valley recently.

As my personal experience, there are more and more companies try to replace Sun Server/workstatation with Linux PCs/servers.
I have both Sun Solaris and RedHat Linux background and just catched the trend....

As for RHCE or RHCT, Google and Yahoo or some large company might require RHCx certificates, just like some conpanies asked
for MSCE before. However, without real Linux system administration experience, you might hard to pass the second round interview.
So I would say, RHCx+3 year Linux administration will be good fit for a lot of companies....

Yahoo wanted to pay me $75 per hour as Linux administrator contractor .....

Just for your reference. Listen for others' opnion as well.

> work with redhat 6.2 7.2, 7.3 and 8,9 ver 2 year off and on.
RedHat Enterprise Linux  2.1 is based on RedHat 7.2 and
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0 is based on RedHat 9 and
RHEL 4.0 (just come out) is based on Fedora Core 3.
Most of companies might ask for RHEL instead of RedHat free version. But it should be ok if you know RedHat 7.2 and RedHat 9 well since the configuration files, system
admininstration tools are the same between free version and commerical ones (of course, there are some difference.)

Sometimes it depends on the interviewer, you might need to answer most of critical technical questions.

Good luck,

It depends on the companies. RedHat 7.x/9 or RHEL 3.0 are most popular in USA.
