How do I make the "white space" in images transparent in Yahoo SiteBuilder?

I have a very primitive website I'm practicing on ( http://www.banzai-atm.com/ ) and would like to make the white space in my logo transparent (so the background can be seen under it.  Right now the logo is a GIF, but I suppose I could use any format that would work.

I use Yahoo SiteBuilder to develop the site.  I have a feeling that it might be too basic to accomplish even a simple tasks like this, so if anyone has a suggestion for good Web Development software that a newbie can pick up on quickly, I'm open.

I will use the solution for this question to fix the problem that my site contains unusual fonts that not everyone who visits my site may have.  I'll just turn the problem fonts into images, but it will look pretty stupid if the images aren't transparent.

Thanks.
