Adding Windows Server 2003 per-server CALs

Good day folks,

I'm concerned about the method to add per-server CALs for Windows Server 2003. After selecting Licensing from Administrative Tools, I end up in Server Browser, select the server and double-click it. The "Choose Licensing Mode" dialog pops up, asking whether the CALs are per-server or per-device. I add the proper number according to my license certificate.... and that's it!!! Why is there no request for an authorization number or any of the other codes on the certificate?!!! Small Business Server 2003 is much more stringent - it asks for the "license code" and connects to some Microsoft authority to verify!

Where's the verification in Windows Server 2003?

Except for Small Business Server and Terminal Services, you are on the honor system.  You should have your documentation  in case you are audited.
