get a faster connection. Remember, your connection is shared and when VPNing it still has to pass the data over that shared connection and the internet before it reaches back to you....

the last question is a completely different question as to why your lan is slow that is most likely not related to the VPN connection... also, I think by the 5 other posts that you have made regarding this intertwined issue that most of us already know that you are using VPN and RRAS so you dont need to keep repeating it in capital letters... The issue to your connection above is you have a slow connection that is being shared by multiple machines which will slow your download of the dat files and logon time down depending on the number of users using the DSL connection ON BOTH sides of the VPN... depending on the number of users, you might want to look at getting business class DSL which should give you 1.5MB speeds and would greatly improve your transfer time between locations via the VPN...

my vpn is only used at night time when we are not even at the office, nobody connected through our vpn then so if you read what i am saying you would understand that my lan side is slow as well, that 100 base network it was not slow until the vpn was added that internally not using the dsl connection and by the way our dsl connection is soho 1.5 so it not a slow dsl connection

according to above (your first statement), you said you had 384x384... another thing to remember is your distance from the CO (central office - aka where all the teleco hardware is located for your phone provider) depends on how good of that actual advertised speed you get... very few people will actually get the full speeds...  also, if one end is 384/384 and the other end is 1.5, the fasted you will download is still what you clock on the 384/384 side of things...  try running some tests from the following site to determine the status of both connections and their true download speeds: http://www.dslreports.com/tools and post the results back here....

have you checked your network for any viruses/trojans/worms that might be hogging the system?  how large are the dat files? check to make sure autoupdates and other automated downloads by software/AV/firewalls are not updating at this same time... network card settings (both sides of the VPN)... there is a whole slew of items to look at to determine the cause of the slowdown... all of these topics, however, are best suited for the networking channel than the database channel...
