asked on

System Management Process as service.

Ok I hope someone can help.

Yesterday all of a sudden no the network slowed down and no one could get out to the internet.

I think the problem is on our Windows 2000 Workstation keep broadcasting out.  I see that there is a service running called system management process and it is called server.fcc in the registry.  I also see it in the registry under all the run, runonce, etc...

If I get rid of it in the registry and reboot the machines work fine for about 10 minutes and then it comes back and the network slow down again.

I hope I explained it ok.  Very tired.  HELP!!!

What do I do?
There are many ways to remove this process but i would recommend HighJackThis. Download it from this site and post the log here or on the site: -

http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/downloads.htm
http://www.hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english                         check the log

Let me know.

Thanks
First of all post the entry from registry for this process located at: -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
All it says there is

System Management Process              REG_SZ            scvhosts.exe

Anything else I can do?
>>> scvhosts.exe

Please check it once again...its SVCHOST.exe or SWCHOST.exe or SVOHOST.exe
Did you download the HighJackThis ? If yes then run it and post the log here to manually fix it.
