Joining a domain

Hi Experts,

My problem is that a remote computer is trying to join our domain. There are a couple of routers and gateways between here and there.

I've connected to the computer via PC Anywhere, so I have control of the PC.

When trying to connect to the domain - and my boss has tried just about everything we get this error message:

The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

Yet I can ping the bdc from the remote computer, I can net use the IPC$ share. Is there anything else I can try before getting the WAN/VPN experts to sort it out?

PS So far this user has been down for 4 hours!

The solution was that there was a missing WINS entry in the TCP/IP properties. (We are about to upgrade to Windows 2003 and clean up a whole bunch of services like this.)
