The second one seems to be the one; however, I'm still considering what I'll do as I don't want to spend the $'s only to still need to spend more. <br />

An image drum seems reasonable. A fuser unit is too much.<br />

I have an HP 4500 color laser and am getting vertical smears on every page, top to bottom, same place every time, even when printing a test page.<br />
&nbsp;<br />
I looked for jams but saw nothing. I've tried cleaning the image drum &amp;&nbsp;transfer roller assy &amp;&nbsp;no improvement. I did see the gray - black smudges on the image drum in the same places and very carefully cleaned the drum but got no improvement.<br />

There are no error messages.<br />

Transfer Kit: 80%<br />

Drum Kit: 26%<br />
