Hi:

I built a new P.C where I installed a new motherboard “ ABIT VA-10”.  I ghosted Windows XP professional into a used hard drive.  I down loaded the updated BIOS from the ABIT web site on a floppy and ran it.  When I rebooted the P.C it ran for a minute or two then I got the blue screen with this error code(0X00000034  Cache-Manager)  it also says to disable BIOS memory options such as Caching or Shadowing to see if that helps.

Can anyone tell me what to do?  I do not know how to disable BIOS memory as they suggest .

Thanks

Thanks for the help!

I think i figured it out.  The CPU was overheating which caused the error message.  I have a follow-up question:  if i am using a new motherboard, and i need to download the new drivers, what is the best way to go about this.  Is the latest chip set for the motherbored or the CPU.  After i went into my bios, for some reason, i dont see where i can set the video caching to be disabled.  I looked everywhere.
 Thanx.

Get the drivers for the chipset of the motherboard - the cpu doesn't require drivers.  In particular, VIA chipset if it has it, and IDE drivers (generally covered under motherboard drivers).
