I have a friend, he recently, bought an Apple laptop. Its running Mac OS/x.  he hates it and wants to go back to a Windows machine.

I don't know much about Macs, so here I am asking you guys:-

Can the drive be formatted and Windows XP for arguments sake, be installed?

Many thanks.

No - Windows XP will only run on PCs with Intel, AMD, or another PC-compatible processor and motherboard.   Macs are based on PowerPC processors with Apple/Mac motherboards, and only certain operating systems designed to run on them - Mac OS X, certain versions of Linux - can be used with them.
