Restrict access to Yahoo Games on individual PC using HOSTS file

Hi, this is sort of related to firewalls.  I want to modify an individual PC hosts file so that the user cannot access Yahoo Games (games.yahoo.com).  When I try to add a selection to the hosts file that says

127.0.0.1 games.yahoo.com

but nothing happens (I can still access Games).  I can successfully add a selection for yahoo.com but I don't want to restrict the user from using all of yahoo -- just games.yahoo.com.

We do not have a proxy server and I do not want to modify firewall.  Just want to restrict on this particular computer.

Thanks!!

Interesting.. Even with /flushdns to empty the cache. Command prompt nslookup resolves to 127.0.0.1, I still get a login prompt to my own webserver but can't get in, but at least I don't get the yahoo games page no matter what...

I put these three entries in my hosts file
127.0.0.1 games.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 games1.vip.scd.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 login.yahoo.com

Try with a bogus local IP instead of 127.0.0.1

192.168.144.244 games.yahoo.com

Try using both the alias and the canonical names:

127.0.0.1 games.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 games1.vip.scd.yahoo.com
