what's the best way to generate code using some sort of template in Eclipse?

If there are some things that I do in code that I do over and over again and am unable to abstract for whatever reason, then I'd like to use some sort of template generator to generate that code given a set of parameters.

There are a variety of systems out there and I don't know much about any of them.

* eclipse templates (is it even possible to to put parameters in eclipse templates?)
* xdoclet (I don't even know what you use xdoclet for or how it works.)
* velocity (this is a template system, but how would I use it in eclipse for generating snippets or even multiple source files of code?)

In short, I want to know the best way to use a template system inside of eclipse.
