I have a shortcut to a mapped drive on a win 2003 server.  The drive is mapped in a logon script. Sometimes the icon changes and contains a question mark.  Not sure what this question mark is tellingme, but the shortcut works fine.  If I delete the shortcut and recreate it, at some later time the question mark re-appears.

Usually you get the question mark when there is an interruption with the connection.  If it restores, the question mark will usually stay and if you click on it the connection will work fine and the question mark will go away.  Sometimes my shortcuts at my remote sites show up on the desktop before the drives finish mapping, but I click on them and they work fine as the connection was created.

It's fine as long as you click and are connected.
